For every new invention, there is an inventor or group of inventors, for every new development there is someone who had the foresight, innovation and courage to do something never done before.
Arriving in New Zealand hundreds of years ago, Maori found a land vastly different from the tropical islands they had come from. Different plants, animals and landscapes forced them to adapt to different materials and develop new technologies in order to survive. Centuries later, European settlers found themselves in similar circumstances, forced to become problem solvers and adapt to the remote and physically challenging environment. As a result, New Zealanders have developed what they call, a "number 8 wire" mentality and a "can-do" attitude.
Look back at the inventors and developers who have helped to create the world we live in and imagine what amazing developments are yet to come.
