A New Setting

MOTAT’s Print Shop volunteers are engaged in keeping the art of the printing press alive, using incredible machines and delicate skill to create contemporary print works.
Opening 6 November, A New Setting
is a survey of second-generation volunteer Makyla Curtis’ letterpress work, displaying framed works of poetry that have been set by Curtis and printed by the Print Shop team.
A New Setting will showcase two sides of Curtis’ Print Shop work: her hand-set, limited-run prints of contemporary New Zealand poetry, including works by 2017 NZ Poet Laureate Selina Tusitala Marsh and her project to create a contemporary te reo type case.

From 6 November A New Setting will be displayed at the Walsh Memorial Library, MOTAT 1, and can be visited Monday – Friday, 10am- 5pm until 2 February 2018.
