Please note the following during Alert Level 2:

As the global battle against COVID-19 continues, you will notice some significant changes around our site when you arrive. Your safety and that of our team is our priority. Here’s a rundown of some of the safety measures we have put in place:

  • Contact tracing using the CHECKIN-19 app. Our hosts will be on hand to help you use this safe and secure system.
  • Sanitisation stations across the museum.
  • Extensive cleaning schedules across both sites.
  • MOTAT will be closed every Monday for deep cleaning.
  • We will be open from 10am to 4pm each day to accommodate additional cleaning outside of operating hours.

MOTAT’s spacious sites are a great help for maintaining safe distancing. However, to ensure safety precautions are met, some parts of the museum will remain closed for now. These include:

  • Confined interiors of the village cottages.
  • The MOTOTs Under 5 play areas.
  • The model railway spaces.
  • The interiors of our trams. This means the tram service between M1 and M2 will not be operating.
