Either drive or walk between sites. Your ticket is valid to visit the other site within 30 days of purchase, should getting to both sites on the same day not suit you.
MOTAT recommends parking at MOTAT 2 on Meola Rd. There is ample parking directly outside the museum entrance where you can purchase your entry tickets and begin your MOTAT visit by experiencing our award-winning Aviation Display Hall.
MOTAT’s historical Western Springs Tramway service is included as part of standard MOTAT admission, and this offers a fantastic way to travel between our two MOTAT sites. Our historic trams operate throughout the day – check out the MOTAT Tram Timetable for more information.
Parking options adjacent to our MOTAT 1 site on Great North Rd is limited.
We recommend parking at MOTAT 2 – entry via Meola Rd - and taking a historic tram ride from there to the MOTAT 1 Great North Rd site.
Please note that the MOTAT 2 driveway access from Motions Rd is now closed. Parking is at MOTAT 2 is accessed via the official Meola Rd entrance.
Mobility parking is available at both sites MOTAT 2 at Meola Rd and at MOTAT 1 on Great North Rd.
Mobility parking at MOTAT 1 (Great North Road) is available within the MOTAT gates and will need to be pre-arrange access by calling our helpful staff on 09 815 5800. More information for visitors with impairments is available here.
Tram travel between the MOTAT sites
MOTAT 2 has ample parking available and included as part of standard MOTAT admission, the Western Springs Tramway service is a fantastic way to experience a historical tram ride between the two MOTAT sites passing the idyllic Western Springs Park and Auckland Zoo.
You can ride the trams as much as you wish during your visit to MOTAT – check out the MOTAT Tram Timetable for more information. We highly recommend you begin your MOTAT experience at the MOTAT 2 site to enjoy the ample parking.
