MOTAT is thrilled to announce the release of the Museum's first book ‘Ready, Set, Go!’ a Kiwi transport book written and illustrated by award-winning illustrator and author, Beck Wheeler.
This delightful picture book brings the Museum collection to life with catchy rhymes and cute illustrations, and features many of MOTAT's collection treasures and some of New Zealand’s great explorers.

About the Author
Beck Wheeler was born in Germany and grew up on Auckland’s North Shore. She studied Fine Arts at UNITEC and, after graduating, worked in London and Melbourne. Beck has had an eclectic career, including stints in hospitality, pathology and teaching. She has been writing for as long as she can remember and penned her first children’s book when she was still at school. By the age of 18, Beck had written her first book, How Absurd, which was later published by Lothian Books. She has also been a street artist, artist resident in schools and mentored young designers. As an artist, Beck exhibits internationally on a regular basis. She is now based in Piha, West Auckland, with her husband and their young son.
