About this object

The New Zealand Flying School was founded in October 1915 and based at Mission Bay, by Vivian and Leo Walsh along with Reuben Dexter. Over 100 pilots trained at the school, most of them going on to serve in the First World War. The school was later sold to the New Zealand government when it ran into financial difficulties after the First World War.
