MOTAT’s ANTI-VALENTINE'S returns with a vengeance

It’s that time of year when we must brace ourselves for the predictable onslaught of commercialised schmaltz.

Thankfully the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) will once again step forward to provide Aucklanders with the perfect social anti-dote to this annual spend fest for the love-sick.

Whether you're single, in a relationship or perhaps it's just ‘complicated’ (?) – MOTAT is encouraging curious punters 18 years + to break with societal conventions this Friday 14 February and visit MOTAT for their infamous Anti-Valentine’s celebrations.

MOTAT’s inaugural Anti-Valentine’s event was a runaway success in 2019 and this year word is already spreading, and their offering appears to have grown.

Located at MOTAT’s M1 Great North Rd location, the Museum grounds will be scattered with food stands, licensed bars, and a variety of activities and performance areas.

Tickets are priced from $20 - $25 and with all entertainment and activities included this might just be the best value Valentine’s day outing in town!

Visitors will be able to try their hand at a range of activities, with some of the more intriguing options being:

  • Happy Ending
  • You’re dumped
  • It’s Complicated
  • Swipe Left
  • Get Jiggy with it

While the titles of the activities run the full relationship gamut, unlike ‘real life’, partaking while at MOTAT won’t leave you needing therapy or a lawyer.

Those who attended in 2019 will be pleased to know that Daddy Issues will be back, complete with safety googles, overalls and your choice of weapon, and new to the 2020 line up will be the popular Paint Vine team to help you unleash your creative passions using that proven formula of art and alcohol.

Attending one of MOTAT’s after hour events always delivers a nostalgic reminder of happy childhood visits but attendees should also be prepared to experience some rather more ‘Adult’ shenanigans at this MOTAT Anti-Valentine’s event!

Friday 14 February | 7.00 – 11.00pm

MOTAT 1, Great North Rd
