Whenuapai 1945-1965 : Royal New Zealand Air Force Station & Whenuapai International Airport, Auckland, by Christopher Neighbours

 

This book fills a gap in the literature about the history of Auckland’s first land-based international civilian airport and the military airbase at Whenuapai. The author was stimulated to write this book by the debate about the possibility of the Waitakere City Council redeveloping the old military airfield at Whenuapai. Some of the research was done at MOTAT in the library and some images are from our Whites Aviation Collection.
