This award winning title was added to the MOTAT Library Children’s Collection this month. It is a colourful and lively book that describes the building of a road. The rhyming text is simple with lots of repetition and noisy sounding words that make it suitable for both pre-school and early primary school children. The big bold colourful pictures and noisy onomatopoeic words create a fun, interactive book. Children can join in with the noisy words at the end of each page. It is also informative and factual about the many stages involved in building a new road. At the end of the story there is a ‘Machine Facts’ page full of information and facts about the different machinery used throughout the story. This is a great read for the many young fans of diggers and trucks that love to visit MOTAT.

 

This story is sure to be a hit at the new Wednesday morning MOTAT storytime. MOTAT Storytime for under 5s begins on Wednesday 22^nd July 2009, and will be on offer every Wednesday during school terms at 10:30 am.
