Galaxy of Cars The 2007 New Lynn Lions and MOTAT Galaxy of Cars was held on Sunday 4 February. With over 650 vehicles of all types and included the following clubs; Jaguar, Holden, Vaxhall, Austin Healy, Ford, Chev, Hillman to name a few. MOTAT had a large display of vehicles including cars, fire engines, military vehicles and show cased vehicles from the Police collection which is currently on loan to MOTAT. A swap meeting started at 7.30am and remained open throughout the day and the numerous car clubs displaying an excellent and vast array of vehicles. The brilliant sunshine, warm weather and large MOTAT Motions Road site enabled more than 6,100 people to come and share their passion of and curiosity for the motor vehicles of the past and present, with the opportunity to see one of the world's most unique aviation collections, in the Aviation Hanger. Plenty of food, drink and icecream were available to satisfy visitors, with many thousands also taking the opportunity to take the tram and visit MOTAT Western Springs site. - a great day out for the family!

Swap meet starts at 7.30am, car show starts at 10am-3pm. In association with the New Lynn Lions, the first of MOTAT's Live Days is not to be missed! Galaxy of Cars features over 600 vintage, classic and military vehicles as well as live music and entertainment for the kids. Special entry price is $8 adults, $2 kids under 16 and under 5s free. Proceeds go to the National Burns Unit for children. Plus! Purchase your entry ticket from MOTAT Motions Road and gain FREE entry into MOTAT's Great North Road site. Also, Steam Trains running 11.00am to 4.00pm, Solent Flying Boat Tours 10.00am to 4.00pm. A great family day out!
